About Sarah

Hi I'm Sarah Dunbar, a designer creating contemporary prints and patterns for fabrics, cushions and handmade faux leather pouches.

My products are all designed and handmade in the UK with the designs themselves created from my own photographs or artwork, I then transform into colourful products.

In July 2018, I launched my debut collection of handmade faux leather pouches, inspired by my love of colour, art and nature. Since then I have grown my range to include cushions, bags and fabrics.

I design and make in my home studio based in beautiful Gloucestershire, where I live with my husband and two young sons.

My pieces have been sold in the National Portrait Gallery, London, National Museum Northern, Ireland, Walker Art Gallery in Minneapolis in the USA and are in over 40+ independent stockists throughout the UK, USA and Europe.

ABOUT THE ART

Each pattern design originates from a photo or artwork created by Sarah. Inspiration from travels around the world or closer to home, including the magical colours of a Cuban sunset, the image of waves crashing on to a Cornish beach, or the sprawling landscapes of the Lake District. These photos or prints are then digitally developed into contemporary patterns to be used on products from homewares and fabrics to fashion accessories and giftwares.

LABOUR OF LOVE

I studied design for exhibitions and museums at University before pursuing a professional career project managing exhibitions and events for over a decade.

I have always harboured a desire to create my own line of handmade products and in 2018, I set myself a new challenge and left my permanent job to establish my own design business. I’m focused on creating vibrant designs and handcrafting gorgeous fashion and home accessories.

All the products I make are made from quality fabrics and sourced within the UK, staying true to my values of sustainable and thoughtful production.

SEW FAR, SEW GOOD

I design all the prints myself in my home studio in Gloucestershire and all my products are all made by hand.

The whole enterprise is wholly UK based, something I place a lot of value upon.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions or to simply say hello, I would love to hear from you.
